Pros:
✔️ High quality ingredients, many are from local farms in New York
✔️ Customize your sides and macros
✔️ Reheated via boiling (we like that better than microwave-meal kits)
Cons:
➖ Not available on the West Coast
At first, I was skeptical of RealEats. I was used to meal kits that came in a tray you'd heat up in the microwave.
What a mistake! They taste SO GOOD! It kind of makes sense: they vacuum-seal the meals, so they're fresh (never come in contact with air) and spend more time "marinating" in their own juices.
It seems like RealEats has
3 main differences:
1. Quality ingredients that are vacuum-sealed for freshness
2. Customize your sides
3. Easy to see macros & nutritional information
Ok y'all, I did TONS of research 😂 so you don't have to.
I care about my health, so I was concerned about boiling plastic bags. Turns out, it's perfectly safe to use RealEats "Fresh Packs".
On the other hand, the bulk plastic wraps you might find at the grocery are not safe. So I wouldn't try to recreate this with a ziploc!
It's ~$13 per meal with the plan I'm on. Honestly, considering how high quality and tasty it is - this isn't bad. It beats ordering in every night! You can also use my code for 20% off.
So this is another one of my favorite things. You can customize your meals, including the sides to meet your needs! It shows all the macros. Generally, RealEats is much healthier than what I used to eat.
Bottom line - RealEats is by far one of my favorites.
✔️ Food is delicious
✔️ Vacuum sealed keeps it fresh
✔️ Heats more thoroughly than a microwave since you boil the meals ("sous-vide")
✔️ Great for single person households
✔️ Great if you need to count your macros
✔️ Very customizable
